Project Management for the SBB Businesspoint

The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and Regus, the world leader in the provision of outsourced work spaces, have joined forces to create a network of SBB business points throughout Switzerland.

SBB Businesspoints provide work places and meeting rooms for hire at the station. SPGI Geneva SA has been commissioned by Regus to supervise the fitting-out of the second SBB Businesspoint in Switzerland in the renovated premises of the Cornavin station. The main challenges of this AMO mission were to coordinate the project modifications desired by the project owner with the company in charge of the station renovation works and to fit out the gross delivered surfaces  in less than 4 months to meet the opening date scheduled in May 2014.

The solutions

Project organisation and negotiation of SIA contracts: SPGI advised the client to work with the contractors already in charge of the structural work in order to facilitate the coordination of the interventions and negotiated the SIA contracts with the architects, HVAC engineer, electricity and sanitary on behalf of Regus.

Award process: SPGI worked closely with the architect to draft the tender documents, analyse the return of bids and establish the overall budget for the works.
Construction monitoring: SPG Intercity represented Regus at weekly site meetings  and produced monthly  progress reports.

Cost control: SPGI ensured the budgetary followup of the project: control of  the schedules, the invoicing and monthly update of the global budget.
